# Exchange — The Board

The board is every open trade other collectors have posted, newest first.
Anyone can fill one.

**How:** Open your Exchange (the ⇌ on your wallet row) and tap **BOARD**. From a sticker sheet, **✸ SWAPS · ⇌ BOARD** opens it straight on SHEETS.

**FOR YOU** sits on top. A trade lands there when:

- **✛ ON YOUR WISHLIST** — it gives an Output on your wishlist, or a sheet you've marked as wanted.
- **YOU HOLD WHAT THEY WANT** — you hold an Output from every Project it asks for, and enough of every sheet.

Everything else is under **EVERYONE**. Your own open trades never show on
your board; they're in your slots.

## Filling a trade

**How:** Tap a trade on the board to see it whole, tap each **ANY** square to pick which of your Outputs goes, then tap **FILL TRADE**.

An ANY square opens a list of your Outputs from that Project. Tap one and it
takes the square. A piece in a Vault wears ⚿ and can't be picked. Tap FILL
TRADE before every ANY is picked and the app tells you:

The confirm card then names the Output you picked:

**COUNTER** on a board trade sends its poster a direct trade of your own. Their
open trade stays on the board for everyone else.

## How a trade settles

Every piece on both sides is checked again the moment a trade is accepted or
filled: the Outputs, the sheet counts, the keychains, the ETH. **Everything
moves together, or nothing moves.** If anything on either side has changed
hands, the trade can't settle and nothing happens.

On chain, a trade is one transaction: Outputs, sealed sheets, keychains and
ETH swap together in a single fill, whether it was sent to someone or open to
anyone, "any Output" asks included.

When it settles:

- Outputs change hands, and any listing on them comes down.
- Sheets arrive in your [Binder](/docs/stickers/the-binder-and-your-profile) sealed, the same as a sheet from the Store.
- Keychains move to your rack. Their PriceStreak and PriceRank traits reset; the look never changes ([Keychains](/docs/keychains/overview)).
- The trade's poster gets a ⇌ ping, and it goes into both of your RECORDs.
- On the poster's side, the slot turns DONE and waits for **COLLECT**.

No fee and no royalty come out of either side.

## Limits

- **Eight slots.** Up to eight trades out at once. Collect or cancel one to free a slot.
- **12 pieces a side.**
- **ETH on one side only**, and a trade needs at least one piece besides ETH.
- **An open trade can't ask for a keychain.** Ask for one in a direct trade.
- **No mixing rails.** A trade can't mix on-chain and pre-chain Outputs; trade them separately.
- **No trading with yourself**, and platform accounts don't trade.
