# Your First Hour

Everything on this page is free, and none of it touches the chain until the one step that says so. Do these in order and PD is fully set up around you — the platform starts working for you from step 4 on, even while you sleep.

## The collector's first hour

1. **Connect and sign in.** Tap **Connect**, pick your wallet, sign the message it shows you — a signature, not a transaction; costs nothing. Your wallet is the whole account: no email, no password. ([Wallet Setup](/docs/for-collectors/wallet-setup))
2. **Claim your @name and face.** First sign-in walks you through your handle, your **PriceSprite**, and your profile color. The @name is how the whole platform knows you, permanently. ([Identity & Profiles](/docs/app/identity-and-profiles))
3. **Install PD to your Home Screen.** Safari → share sheet → **Add to Home Screen**. This is the platform as it's meant to be lived in — full screen, its own app — and it's required for lock-screen pings on iPhone. ([The Shell](/docs/app/the-shell))
4. **Turn your pings on.** Open the connect menu → MY PD → **MY PINGS**: cycle the ⇡ pill to **3D** (or COMBO) and allow when iOS asks. From this moment sales, offers, and wishlist hits reach your lock screen — the platform watches so you don't have to. ([Pings — Controls](/docs/pings/controls))
5. **Walk Now Minting and star freely.** The home carousel is what's live right now. **★ star** Outputs you like — it's a private, silent bookmark, so be generous with it. Star an **artist** or a **project** (long-press its title) and their moves start feeding your pings. ([Discovery](/docs/app/discovery))
6. **Wishlist what you actually want.** **✛** is declared buy intent, still private — and it has teeth: the moment a wishlisted Output is listed or sells, you're pinged. Your want-list becomes a tripwire. ([Outputs](/docs/app/outputs))
7. **Mint your first Output** — the one step that touches the chain. Tap MINT on a Project you love; the wallet sheet shows the exact total before you approve, and the artist is paid 95% inside your own transaction. Long-press the mint button first if you want the room: crowd, supply bar, soundtrack. ([Projects & Minting](/docs/app/projects-and-minting))
8. **Set one Sentinel trap.** Open the To-Dos panel, type something like *"buy prisms 22 under .4"* — the platform now checks the real market **every minute, server-side**, and pings your phone the moment your number hits. ## The artist's first hour

1. **Read the deal in plain terms.** The thesis, what deploying means, and the economics — 95% of primary at mint time, 5% royalty split 3/2 on secondary. ([How PD Works](/docs/for-artists/how-pd-works), [Royalties](/docs/for-artists/royalties))
2. **Walk into [PD Studio](/docs/studio/overview)** — no wallet, no permission needed. Draft a Project, upload your script, and run real test runs on simulated token hashes: what you test is exactly what would ship. ([Upload & Testing](/docs/studio/upload-and-testing))
3. **Open the conversation.** All artist relations run through one door: DM [brendonrell](https://x.com/brendonrell) on X — two or three lines and a link to the work is plenty. Questions welcome before anything formal. ([Get in Touch](/docs/for-artists/get-in-touch))
4. **Know the second door exists.** Every whitelisted PD artist holds two vouch slots — if one believes in your work, they can put you forward from their Studio. ([Submit a Project](/docs/for-artists/submit-a-project))
