# the gnomewallet

The GNOME tab is the gnome's home. The **gnomewallet** is yours — an entire world in a modal, and deliberately not the platform's world: carved timber, plank walls, a shingle sign swinging on ropes, hobbit doors with brass knobs, a lantern over everything, spores in the lamplight, and a mushroom ring along the floor. Stepping in is meant to feel like the mushroom worked.

**How:** After your first gnome wakes, tap the ⍙ pill in Settings → the Wallet row.

- **①︎ The burrow** — one door per gnome you keep; tap a door and its keeper greets you.
- **②︎ The signpost** — the way through; the whole world stays lowercase.
- **③︎ [the mushroom market](/docs/gnomes/the-mushroom-market)** — the only venue where a gnome changes hands.

One convention rules the whole place: **the gnome world is a lowercase world.** gnomewallet, the mushroom market, your `.gnome` name, the motto — *"gnome matter what"* — all of it, always.

## Getting in

The gnomewallet reveals itself: the moment your first gnome wakes ([the Awakening](/docs/gnomes/the-awakening)), a ⍙ pill appears in Settings → the Wallet row, beside the fiat toggle. No gnome, no pill — the door simply isn't there yet.

## The gnomenclature

Crossing the threshold issues your identity in the gnome world, derived from your real wallet and permanent:

- **Your gnome address** — same shape as an Ethereum address, but it starts `6n0m3` and the rest is dug deterministically from your real address. It signs nothing and never will; it is the hill's way of writing your name in its books.
- **Your `.gnome` name** — your PD handle in the world's own registry: `brendon.gnome`. No auction, no renewal fee, no squatting; it's simply yours because you are.

## The two wings

- **my burrow** — every gnome in your keeping, each standing in its own door: figure alive on its own beat, rarity plate over the arch, the awakening record below, and the sign controls (hang a FOR SALE sign, or take it down). Tap a gnome and it speaks to you as its favorite person — in your own burrow, you always rank.
- **[the mushroom market](/docs/gnomes/the-mushroom-market)** — the market hall, one signpost over.

## What the gnomewallet is not

It holds no ETH, no tokens, no keys, and it can't send anything anywhere. It is a display case and a deed box for a real-fake collection — which is exactly why it can afford to be this charming.
