# the mushroom market

The gnome world's market hall — **the mushroom market**, the only venue in existence where a gnome can change hands. It's the second wing of the [gnomewallet](/docs/gnomes/the-gnomewallet), past the signpost.

**How:** Enter the gnomewallet ⍙ and walk past the signpost to the market hall.

## Hanging a sign

A keeper lists a gnome by hanging a **FOR SALE** sign on its door: name your ask in ETH and the sign goes up; take it down any time. Hanging a sign moves no money and breaks nothing — the gnome stays in your burrow, still yours, still speaking to you, just wearing a plank that says what it would take.

Every hung sign in the world stands in the market hall, keeper and price on the door, priciest first. Anyone can browse; tap a listed gnome and it will greet you — as a stranger, because you are one to it.

## The deal

- **Getting a gnome is free** — always, forever. The only way one enters the world is the [Awakening](/docs/gnomes/the-awakening), and PD never charges for it.
- **Fees: gnome ore fees.** That is the entire fee schedule. No platform cut, no royalties, no gas games — the seller keeps 100% of every sale.
- **Secondary sales are real.** Tap **STRIKE THE DEAL** on a listed door and your wallet opens pre-filled: the exact ask, paid straight to the seller's real wallet, with a receipt stamped into the transaction naming the deal. PD never touches the money — the payment goes wallet to wallet.
- **The counting house does the books.** Once the payment is confirmed on-chain, PD's ledger flips the gnome into your [burrow](/docs/gnomes/the-gnomewallet) automatically. The seller has no delivery step and no way to renege — the hanging sign is the standing commitment, and payment executes it. If your connection drops mid-count, tap the door again: the deal resumes where it left off.

## Only on Price Discussion

This is worth saying plainly, because it is the whole nature of a real-fake NFT: gnomes exist **only** in PD's ledger. They cannot be bridged, wrapped, exported, or listed anywhere else — not as a restriction bolted on, but because there is nothing outside PD *to* list. The scarcity is real, the ownership record is real, the money is real; the venue is singular. The hill keeps its own books, and this is the room where they're kept.
