The App — Overview
PriceOS is the software layer of Price Discussion — the app collectors and artists actually live in. It is built like an operating system for one obsession: watching a community discuss art through prices. This section documents its surfaces; each page below goes one level deeper.
The map
- The Shell — everything persistent: the Tape, the navbar, the footer and its easter eggs, the installable app, colorways.
- Projects & Minting — the Project page: the mint flow in the UI, live presence, traits, the Genome, milestones, and each Project's own color.
- Outputs — the individual artwork: live on-chain rendering, attributes and rarity, the action row, and the ASCII backup.
- Identity & Profiles — @names, PriceSprites, profile pages, Showcase, and the Collected / Starred / Wishlist / Albums system.
- Collector Tools — the OS-tools layer: To-Dos, Notes, the Cart, the Bench, the Calc, the Calendar, Workflows, and Portfolio.
- The Spell Book — pill-toggleable view modifiers and the platform's stranger surfaces.
- Pings — the notification system: what fires, what you control, and how pings reach your devices.
- Stickers ⊞ — the second economy: sealed sheets, the peel, the binder, and a marketplace of its own.
- Achievements — the unlock system across thirteen categories.
- Discovery — search, the home surfaces, feeds, and PriceRank.
- Composer ⊚ — the visual query builder: compose a question about the whole catalog, watch it answer live, save it as a Program.
- The Factions — the color war: allegiance, the Sigil, the Marginalia, sieges and the Book of Conquests.
- Cartography ◫ — the living map of the whole platform: territories, inhabitants, and market events in real time.
- The Rewind ◄ — the whole-OS time scrubber: browse PD as it stood on any past PriceDay.
- The Dispatch ❡ — the morning paper: yesterday on the record, printed daily, archived forever.
- Settings & Display — MY PD: colorways, display modes, and per-surface controls.
Design language, briefly
PriceOS is mobile-first, typographic, and monochrome-leaning: Rubik Mono One display type, Inter body text, and a fixed vocabulary of Courier-rendered Unicode glyphs instead of icon fonts — every glyph in the app means exactly one thing, everywhere it appears. Each page carries a color: the home page wears the Mood Ring (a generative color that changes daily), every Project page wears its artist's color, every profile wears its owner's, and the whole system yields to whichever colorway you pick in settings.
One principle worth knowing
Always feel moving forward. Anything asynchronous — a mint, a fetch, a reveal — shows continuous motion from the instant it starts until it resolves. If the UI looks frozen, that's a bug, not a style.
