The Sigil
Every wallet carries one mark: three or four carved glyphs worked out from its address, unlike anyone else's. It was written into your wallet before you ever arrived. The Forge doesn't design it, it only shows it to you, and forging makes it yours for good.
How: On your own profile, triple-tap your @name, then tap the last tile of the logo carousel (the Forge).
The Forge
The Forge is always the last tile of your Profile Logo carousel. It opens a card with your mark on it.
Every wallet carries one mark, written into it before you ever arrived. This is yours. It has never belonged to anyone else and never will.
Forge it and it is yours forever — beside your name, in the margins of everything you touch. There is no unmaking a Sigil. The stone remembers.
- Forging is a choice, and it's forever. The card asks first:
Forge your Sigil? It can never be unmade. There's no undo and no re-roll; the same wallet always gets the same mark. - Not forging costs you nothing. Your PriceSprite stays your face everywhere, as it always has.
Where your Sigil shows
Once forged, your mark:
- trails your @name: on your profile, in the connect pill at the top of the app, and on the tape. On the tape it wears your faction's color while your Sigil flies, and plain bone otherwise.
- joins the carousel as the Sigil ring: your mark on a bubble in every faction color, right before the Forge. Picking one of these is how you join a faction (see Raising your flag).
- becomes your corner logo when you fly it: everyone who visits your profile sees your Sigil bubble in the corner.
- signs the art: your hand in every Output's Marginalia shows your Sigil instead of your PriceSprite.
Hiding your Sigil
How: Open the Forge again and tap the switch under your mark.
Once you've forged, the Forge card shows a switch: SHOWN ACROSS PD or HIDDEN ACROSS PD. Hiding takes the mark off your @name, on your profile and in the connect pill, and out of the Marginalia, for everyone. Your own Sigil tab still shows it to you. Your Sigil ring, and a Sigil you fly as your corner logo, stay as they are.
The Sigil tab
How: Open a profile, tap +More, then the ※ Sigil pill.
Every profile has a Sigil tab. What it shows depends on who's looking.
For everyone:
- Mark — the Sigil large, read apart into its parts: Form, Core (with how many of all forged marks share it), Edges, Companion, Accents and the day it was Struck (forged). The header reads its place in line, like
12TH EVER FORGED. An unforged profile readsUNFORGED; a hidden mark reads "keeps the mark hidden". - ≍ Kin — the closest marks on the platform, the ones sharing the most parts. Tap one to open that profile.
- ▟ Margins — this wallet's hand across every Output's Marginalia: how many hands, across how many Projects, the oldest hand, how many it Minted, Bought and Passed (received free), how many were ‡ Struck off, and First Blood: the Projects where it made the first sale.
For a viewer whose own Sigil flies, on a profile that has sworn an oath:
- ⚐ The flag — the color it's sworn to and since when, the faction's members (Comrades) and the ground it Held, its Strongholds, Sieges and Conquests. Defections show as scars in the header.
- ⚐ Standings — every flag ranked by territories held, with strongholds, sieges and how many are sworn. The header says how this flag stands:
LEADS BY 2,3 BEHIND BLUE,TIED WITH GOLDorTHE ONLY FLAG. - ▞ Rivals — head-to-head against each other faction: ground taken and lost, sieges repelled.
- ▟ The ground — the Projects this flag leads or is besieging, and since when. Tap one to open the Project.
- ≣ The Book — this faction's lines from the Book of Conquests.
- The old guard — the longest-sworn members.
