Discord — Overview

Price Discussion is a platform about people talking about prices. The app is where the art and the market live; the Discord is where the talking happens. Treat it as the other half of PD rather than a side channel — a great deal of what makes the place worth being in takes place there.

Join the PD Discord.

What's in here

  • The Channels — the map: what every category is for and which channel you want for what.
  • The Feeds — every PD sale and every PD listing, posted automatically, within a minute of happening. The heartbeat of the server and the fastest way to see what the market is doing.
  • Artist Channels — the artist-only chat, plus the public fan channel that appears for an artist the moment they upload their first project.

How the server connects to the app

The two are deliberately wired together rather than kept apart:

  • Your PD identity travels. When the feeds name you, they draw your full ASCII-ID — your PriceSprite, your PriceRank, your @name and your Sigil — exactly as the app's navbar draws it, with your name linking straight to your profile. Someone reading the feed can go from a sale to your collection in one tap.
  • Every post links back. Output titles open the Output's page, prices open the transaction, royalty figures open the Project.
  • The art shows up. Feed posts carry the actual Output, not a placeholder — the same stored image the site itself serves.

Getting the most out of it

  • Set your @name on PD first. Until you have one, the feeds can only name your wallet, and a wallet address is a poor introduction.
  • Pick the feed channels you actually want. The feeds are split by value, so you can follow everything or only the big moves — see The Feeds.
  • Forge your Sigil if you want it trailing your name in every post you appear in.
