Pings — Controls

Everything about pings is under your control, and all of it lives in one place: the MY PINGS row in Settings. This page walks the whole bank, pill by pill.

How: Open Settings — the MY PINGS row holds every switch.

The MY PINGS bank in Settings, annotated: the Pingtoasts reach pill, the Silent Mode and Quiet Hours pill, and the per-category pills that decide what reaches you. MY PINGS ①︎ ⇡︎ Pingtoasts — how far pings reach (four modes) ②︎ ⏾︎ Silent Mode — OFF → ON → QUIET HOURS ③︎ ◍︎ ✦︎ ⊙︎ ✶︎ ◈︎ per-category switches
  • ①︎ ⇡ Pingtoasts — tap to cycle the four reach modes, from inbox-only up to native lock-screen push.
  • ②︎ ⏾ Silent Mode — the third state is Quiet Hours: native push sleeps inside your nightly window; in-app pings keep landing.
  • ③︎ The category pills — each family of pings has its own switch; the table below walks every one.

The Pingtoasts pill ⇡ — how far pings reach

Tap the ⇡ pill to cycle through four modes:

Mode What happens
OFF Nothing pops anywhere. Pings still land silently in the inbox.
ON Regular Pingtoasts — live in-app toasts + the connect-icon badge while PD is open. No permissions needed; works everywhere, including plain mobile Safari.
3D Native lock-screen notifications that reach you even when PD is closed. No in-app toasts.
COMBO Both at once.

Enabling 3D Pingtoasts on iPhone

3D Pingtoasts are real iOS notifications, so Apple requires two things — once:

  1. Install PD to your Home Screen. Open PD in Safari → share sheet → Add to Home Screen. (PD is built to be lived in as an installed app — see The Shell.)
  2. Open the installed app → Settings → MY PINGS → cycle the ⇡ pill to 3D. A small "Enable 3D Pingtoasts?" bubble appears — tap Yes, and allow when iOS asks.

That's it. Your PriceSprite now delivers your pings to the lock screen — its face is the notification's title line, the ping is the body, wearing the same glyph it wears in the app. Every device you do this on is registered separately, so your phone and your iPad can both receive.

Turning it off is the same pill: cycle past 3D/COMBO back to ON or OFF. iOS notification settings for the installed app work too.

The category pills — what you care about

Nine pills, each an honest filter. A pill turned off silences that category EVERYWHERE — inbox, toasts, and phone alike.

Pill Glyph What it lets through
MINTS ✦ Collecting activity — mints and sales in your orbit
LISTS ✹ Listings, plus wishlist hits
OFFERS ✶ The offer family — made, accepted, countered
XFERS ✸ Transfers
Mutuals ⚭ Relevant activity from your mutuals — the people you follow who follow you back. Your inner circle's mints, buys, listings, and sales.
Artists ✺ Your starred artists acting: they list, they sell, they drop. Star an artist from the Artists list or their profile title (long-press).
Projects ⬚ Your starred projects moving: mints, listings, sales inside them. Star a project by long-pressing its title.
Traits ⨝ Outputs carrying your starred traits getting listed or sold. Star a trait by long-pressing its value pill on any project page.
Rarity ❖ Rarity-tier movement — an Output ranked in the top-10 rarest of a project you hold Outputs in gets minted, listed, or sold. The comps your bag actually cares about.

Things aimed directly at you — someone following you, your achievements, reminders you set — aren't category-gated; they always land in the inbox.

Silent Mode ⏾

The crescent pill is the master mute: nothing pops, nothing buzzes, on any device, until you flip it back. Pings keep recording silently the whole time, so returning from a quiet day means your inbox is complete — it just never interrupted you.

What to expect, honestly

  • With everything ON and 3D enabled, PD will still push you at most a few ambient notifications an hour — the budget is platform-enforced, not a preference you can misconfigure. Money aimed at you always gets through.
  • The unread count on the PINGS panel only ever counts what you truly haven't scrolled past.
  • Preferences follow your account, not your browser — set them once, they hold across devices (push registration itself is per-device, by nature).
