Platform Gen Art

PD draws some of its own chrome instead of writing it once and freezing it — small Outputs of character art, redrawn live from a fixed glyph pantry rather than saved as a fixed string. Two exist today: Tabstract, which is platform-owned, and Formula, which is yours to make.

Tabstract

Every browser tab on PD carries a little redrawn signature after the page title — six glyphs, drawn fresh each time you load a page, from one of six patterns (lines, fibers, geomancy, a scattered weave, vectors, and a geometric cipher). It's platform-owned chrome, not a setting — there's nothing to turn on or configure. It's just PD signing its own tab.

Formula

Formula is your own generative art, worn as a profile tag. Where Tabstract belongs to the platform, Formula belongs to you: you choose what it's made of, and it's yours to wear or not.

How: Long-press your own @name (or use the Profile Tags door in Settings ▸ MY PD) to open your tag row, then tap the Formula pill — the last one before the all-tags paints. It opens a row of its own directly beneath, where + Formula (tag gen art) starts your first Output.

Once you've made one:

  • Sets — pick one or more of ten glyph pantries (Sediment, Shading, Rain, Circuitry, Orbit, Aperture, Halftone, Static, Ladder, Ogham). Mixing sets blends their glyphs together.
  • Length — 4, 6, 8, or 10 glyphs.
  • Weave — how the glyphs are drawn: Scatter (a pure draw across your sets), Alternate (ping-pongs through your sets in order), Run (a glyph repeats a few times before the next is drawn, for texture), or Mirror (draws half and reflects it).
  • Spaced — a hair-space between glyphs, for a looser read.

Every Formula redraws itself on every page load — it's a living thing, not a string frozen at save — but the same Formula with the same load always looks the same to everyone looking at it at that moment. Tap the pill again to wear it or take it off. Tap the pencil beside a saved one to edit it. You can keep up to 22, numbered by shelf position like Albums — never named.

Formula is not Tabstract. It takes its inspiration from Tabstract but goes its own way: its own ten-set pantry Tabstract doesn't touch, plus the length, weave, and spacing dials that are entirely yours to set.
