Cartography ◫
PD drawn as a world. Every Project is a territory with its own generated coastline, every collector an inhabitant living on the land they hold, and every market action a visible event — the whole platform, alive on one map.
How: Long-press the "Price Discussion" name on the home page.
- ①︎ A territory — one Project; area grows with minted supply, the coastline never changes shape, the color is its colorway.
- ②︎ The inhabitants — one dot per wallet, sized by Outputs held there.
- ③︎ ✺ The capital — the artist's seat.
Opening it
Long-press the "Price Discussion" name on the home page. The name is the platform's compass: hold it and the map unfolds full-screen. (Its sibling gesture, the triple-tap, opens The Rewind.)
Reading the map
- Territories are Projects. A territory's area grows with its minted supply — hot mints visibly grow the land. Its coastline is generated from the Project's identity and never changes shape, only size; its color is the Project's own colorway.
- Inhabitants are collectors: one dot per wallet per territory, sized by how many Outputs they hold there. The artist marks the capital with the ✺ artist glyph.
- Continents form on their own. Territories that share collectors drift toward each other. Neighborhoods on the map are real taste-neighborhoods.
The live layer
The map listens to the platform in real time:
- A mint ripples gold at the collector's seat and the territory grows.
- A sale sails as a comet from the seller's dot to the buyer's, price in tow.
- A listing sends up a beacon on the shore.
On open, the recent ledger replays as faint echo pings, so the map is never a still image.
Three depths
- Macro — all of PD at once: shapes, names, sizes.
- Territory — tap one: full coastline, inhabitants, minted count, holders, volume.
- Wallet — tap an inhabitant: everything else dims while that wallet's entire empire lights up across every territory it holds, connected by arcs, with its @name and totals. Tap open sea to sail back out.
Drag to pan, pinch or scroll to zoom, and the breadcrumb in the corner steps you back up a level. Everything on the map is the real ledger — the same data that powers the stats, the feeds, and the Pings.
Reading the names
Labels work the way a real atlas does: type stays a fixed, readable size at every zoom (a bigger landmass never means bigger letters), the most important territories claim their names first, and neighbors' names appear as you zoom in and the room opens up. Every label is light ink with a dark halo, so it reads at a glance over any territory color.
The chart tools
- Search ⌕ (top right) — type a territory's name and jump straight to it.
- Zoom ± — two keys under the search that ease the camera in and out one step at a time; pinch works too.
- FIT — recenter and fit the whole known world on screen.
- ME — fly home: your own wallet's empire, every territory you hold, connected by arcs.
- The minimap — once you're zoomed past the whole-world view, a corner overview appears with a frame marking where you are, so you can never lose the world.
- The legend is a filter — tap COLLECTED, LISTED, or XFER in the legend to switch that kind of pulse off or on. Land, seats, and counts keep updating live either way; you're choosing which motion draws.
- Tap a territory and its card slides up: minted count, population, volume, and an OPEN button that takes you to the project itself. Double-tap a territory to skip the card and go straight to the project's page.
The Time Machine
The map has a time cursor. Scrub it back and the world shrinks to what it was: territories return to the size they were at that moment, and land whose mint count reaches zero sinks back into the sea. Play it forward and the whole history replays as a time-lapse — every crossed mint, sale and listing fires its real ripple, comet and beacon as the world grows out of the water to today.
It is a layer over the live map, never a separate screen. Nothing is mutated while it runs; leaving the machine restores the live world instantly. Seats stay today's seats — the land is the show.
This is the world's own history. For the whole platform docked at a past day — every page, every project, as it stood — that's The Rewind, a different thing reached by a different gesture.
New land
A project has no territory until its first mint — unminted projects simply don't exist on the map yet. The moment someone mints, the land rises from the sea. On a live night you can watch the world grow.
The war layer ⚐
If you fly your Sigil in a faction color, the map grows one more control:
WAR. It's a layer toggle, on by default once you've joined, visible only to
the enlisted. Held territories wear a ring in the holding faction's color
(heavier for a Stronghold), contested ground is striped in every faction's
share, live sieges pulse, a live takeover flies ⚑ before the name, the
bottom-left war row reads who leads how many territories, your empire arcs fly
your color, and territory cards read the ground (HELD · GOLD ·
SIEGE · BLUE vs GOLD · GOLD 62% · BLUE 38%). The full rules of the war live in
Factions. If none of that sentence made sense —
good. The map ships clean for civilians.
